Shine Christian Homeschool Co-op Statement of Faith & Mission
You are the light of the world-like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden…let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly father. -Matt 5:15,16
We are a parent-led Christian homeschool community in which parents cooperate together to provide enrichment in learning, extracurriculars and social time. Families with school age children (5 years & up) that educate at home, and have an NOI on file with the state, are eligible to participate. All participants must align with the beliefs as stated in the Shine Statement of Faith.
We are a whole body of Christ where every part is needed, and cannot function without being in one accord. The goal is to provide an atmosphere led by the Holy Spirit, and to bring glory to God as we educate and disciple our children.
We are in one accord on the following:
1. There is one God and He is creator of everything, and has no creator Himself. Gen. 1:1-2
2. Family if ordained and sanctified as one woman and one man. No other option is ordained by God. 1Cor. 6:20
3. We are all born male or female. Period. No other discussions of such in this group. (This is out of respect for, and to protect the children. These things can be discussed at home.) Gen 1:27, 1Cor 6:20, 1Cor 7:2, 24
4. Jesus is the son of God and His death on the cross covers our sins. If we believe and accept this gift of grace, we are adopted into God’s family through salvation. All have sinned. Rom 6:12, Rom 3:10,23 5:12-21
5. We are instructed to use our gifts to serve one another. Eph 4:11-12
6. As the living temple of the Holy Spirit, we are to avoid temptation and not partake in sexual immorality, impure actions, crude talk or gossip. Eph 5:3
7. Love is the most important commandment of all. 1Cor 12:1-3
8. Live out Titus 2 in every way! Please read Titus 2:3-5
9. The Holy Spirit guides our lives and this group. Gal 5:16 (1 required) |
